Navigate Impact is an immersive missional learning experience with a focus on vocational calling and practical ministry training. Impact is designed to form and equip mature spiritual leaders through focused retreats, an online learning community, reflective reading and writing plus a practical placement in a mission or ministry context.
Explore your calling and engage in practical ministry
Navigate Impact is available for those who have completed a previous Navigate program and are looking for a deeper learning experience. Over 10 months, the Fresh Hope team will work with Impact students to develop customised learning and a practical experience that will help students explore their missional vocation and calling.
Students will be placed in a missional community where they will engage in practical ministry and mentoring as well as intentional space for reflection and exploring vocational calling.
If you are passionate about exploring God’s calling on your life and want to engage in practical mission, then Impact is for you.
What You Need To Know
You will gather with your Impact group 5 times during the year to be immersed in deep community and spiritual formation. Specific retreat dates will be confirmed once you are accepted into the course, however these are the suggested time commitments:
January – 6 days
March – 3 days
July – 6 days
October – 3 days
November – 5 days
Included in this is participation at Summer and Winter School (with the wider Navigate Community) as well as Fresh Hope Collective.
Navigate partners with the Australian College of Ministries (ACOM)* to offer accredited pathways in theological education. You can choose to enjoy the Navigate Impact experience while also earning credit towards a Diploma, Bachelor or Master’s Degree. This option integrates the practical, theoretical and formational learning. Impact students can choose to study up to four subjects. Get in touch to find out more about subjects on offer.
*ACOM is a Member Institute of the Sydney College of Divinity who offer internationally recognised higher education awards.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I work and participate in IMPACT?
Yes! You are required to commit to at least 2 days a week immersed in a mission and ministry context. And depending on your tailored study program you may need to set aside 1-2 days per week for study. You should be able to manage some casual/part-time work. We do not recommend working full-time and participating in Impact.
Am I required to book accommodation or relocate for IMPACT?
Yes and no. The aim of Impact is to immerse you in an intentional mission and ministry context where you will be challenged. For some this means relocating to push your comfort zone. For others, it’s about making the environment you are currently in more intentional and challenging. Have a chat to us for a better idea of what Impact might look like for you.
What does it cost to complete Impact?
Impact costs $3000 per student for the year. A $700 deposit is due by 15 January to secure your place in the course. The remaining $2300 can be paid in 3 instalments across the year. If a student is able to pay the whole year fees upfront, they will receive a 20% discount (pay by 15 January).
We encourage students to seek financial support from their church, family and friends. Please talk to us if you are experiencing financial difficulties as we would hate for this to be the reason you don’t apply!
Please note: additional fees will apply for students who wish to participate as an accredited ACOM student. Please enquire for a complete fee structure for your chosen pathway.
Can I receive HECS or FEE HELP?
Students who choose to study for credit will pay a portion of their fees directly to ACOM. Study with ACOM is Austudy and Fee-Help approved through the Sydney College of Divinity for students who meet the Australian Government criteria. (Visit www.studyassist.gov.au for details).
Please note: Even if you choose to study for credit, there will still be fees payable directly to Fresh Hope, including a $700 deposit to secure your place in the course. Please enquire for a full fee breakdown.
Do I need to by physically fit to participate in Impact?
Although not the primary focus, there will be physical activities involved in Impact retreats. Please ensure you make us aware of any existing injuries or physical limitations that may impede your participation and we will do our best to accommodate the ability of the whole group.
I'm seeing my future beyond my own vision
Looking back, stepping into IMPACT was my response to God’s beckoning to draw in closer. Stepping away from a known context and being placed somewhere new has been a challenge but also a joy. In this space, I feel like I have had no choice but to trust Him in knowing that He is in control, so I don’t have to be. I’m beginning to see my future beyond my own vision, into one where I have no clue where God will take me.
God will continue to carry me for the rest of my days
There has been freedom in the letting go of the belief that my life is up to me! He wants in, and He wants to be in ALL of it. Through opportunities to take steps of courage, I know I will look back on this year as one where God was incredibly faithful. He has brought me thus far and will continue to carry me for the rest of my days!
One of the best decisions of my life
Choosing to do Impact has been one of the best decisions of my life. Impact is a program that has pushed me, challenged me, and grown me. The Navigate community that I have experienced is one that feels like family. It is a safe space to just be yourself. You can ask honest questions, receive encouragement and give encouragement. 2019 has seen my roots grow deeper into God. I have had to wrestle with what my faith means to me, and the realisation that the Gospel changes everything and demands a life response.
