Navigate Adventure is a year of formation designed for 18 – 24 year olds who have a passion to experience Jesus and His Kingdom.
Embrace the adventure of life
Adventure is a year of deep community, discipleship and formation that will equip you to live a Kingdom-focused life wherever you are. You will be immersed in a range of learning environments on 5 ‘treks’ throughout the year, including a 7-day mission exposure trek. ‘Treks’ are on-the-road learning experiences with a small group of students and leaders/mentors. Adventure students will also participate in weekly Zoom Bible and Discipleship sessions with their peers and leaders.
Adventure is designed to help young adults develop a deeper understanding of their God-given identity and purpose as they build a foundation for their life.

What You Need To Know
You will gather with your Adventure group 5 times during the year for ‘treks’. This is a place where you will grow and be transformed through communion with God and his Word, deep community with others and through exposure to mission and ministry. Specific trek dates will be confirmed once you are accepted into the course, however these are the suggested time commitments:
March – 4 days
May – 4 days
July – 6 days
September – 7 days
November – 3 days
Included in these treks is participation at Winter School (with the wider Navigate community) and a 7-day mission exposure trek. As for the locations and activities involved for each trek, you will find out closer to the date – just to keep it interesting for you.
Navigate partners with the Australian College of Ministries (ACOM)* to offer accredited pathways in theological education. You can choose to enjoy the Navigate Adventure experience while also earning credit towards a Diploma, Bachelor or Master’s Degree. This option integrates the practical, theoretical and formational learning. Adventure students can choose to complete up to four subjects** over the year towards their chosen award.
*ACOM is a Member Institute of the Sydney College of Divinity who offer internationally recognised higher education awards.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the time commitment of Adventure?
Adventure students need to be available for all face-to-face treks throughout the year (approx. 24 days total), so it might be worth checking with your employer at the beginning of the year about your time off. You will also need to be available for a weekly Zoom Bible and Discipleship session with your peers and leaders (approx. 1.5 hrs weekly).
If you choose to complete Adventure as an accredited student, you will need to allocate additional study time each week (as indicated by ACOM’s study guidelines). Part-time or casual work is best suited so that you can manage the demands of study.
Am I required to book accommodation or relocate for ADVENTURE?
No, once you arrive at each trek, all accommodation, food and transport is organised for you. Adventure is designed so that you can stay planted where you are, there is no need to relocate.
What does it cost to complete Adventure?
Navigate Adventure costs $3500 (including all accommodation, meals and transport during treks). This fee is the base fee for all non-accredited students. Additional fees will apply for students who wish to participate as an accredited ACOM student. Please enquire for a complete fee structure for your chosen study pathway.
Please note: There may be additional costs involved for the 7-day mission exposure trek if airfares and travel insurance are required. The cost will be provided to the student once the location has been confirmed.
Can I receive HECS or FEE HELP?
Students who choose to study for credit will pay a portion of their fees directly to ACOM. Study with ACOM is Austudy and Fee-Help approved through the Sydney College of Divinity for students who meet the Australian Government criteria. (Visit www.studyassist.gov.au for details).
Please note: Even if you choose to study for credit, there will still be additional fees payable directly to Fresh Hope, including a deposit to secure your place in the course. Please enquire for a full fee breakdown.
Do I need to be physically fit to participate in Adventure?
Although not the primary focus, there will be physical activities involved in Adventure treks. Please ensure you make us aware of any existing injuries or physical limitations that may impede your participation and we will do our best to accommodate the ability of the whole group.
The most transformational experience of my life
Navigate Adventure has been the most transformational experience of my life so far. I have become a more deeply formed and spiritually mature person and have gained a greater understanding and awareness of who I am. It has been a year of challenging and confronting experiences, but from that has come remarkable growth that I believe will last a lifetime.
A good foundation for the rest of my life
I jumped in not knowing what would happen. It is definitely not an easy year and it takes effort, but it brings so much fruit. I have been given the opportunity to explore who God has made me to be, and wholeheartedly accept it. Through this acceptance, I believe I have found a good foundation for the rest of my life; a foundation of God’s grace, peace and joy.
Incredibly challenging but ultimately beyond rewarding
My year has been so incredibly challenging but ultimately beyond rewarding. I have experienced freedom and healing in places that I didn’t know needed it. I have encountered God in ways that I didn’t know possible. And I have grown and learnt so much about myself, my capacity and purpose within the spaces and communities that I find myself in. God’s love and grace is running after me and I’m learning to stand and take it in!
