Table @ 399, Kingsford
In the middle of bustling Kingsford, on one of the busiest roads in Sydney, you will find a haven for the lonely, distressed and marginalised.
As commuters pass through yet another intersection on their journey, those who pause or play out their lives in Kingsford know its make-up includes a margin of people with ethnic, physical, language or class differences that disconnect them from the majority culture.
[email protected] provides a free meal hosted at 5pm every second Sunday for anyone in the community, [email protected] is preceded by an informal 4pm service and followed by the provision of free perishable food items supplied by OzHarvest and the sale of inexpensive groceries, $1 per kilo, supplied by FoodBank.
Birthed out of a desire to connect those who have been marginalised to the love of God through a caring community that seeks to meet their physical needs (1 John 3:17–18), the aroma at [email protected] is nothing short of that of the kingdom of God moving into the community of Kingsford.
